Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using City Cup Tennis League (the "Service") you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the Service.
1.Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your", or "Member") and the operators of City Cup Tennis League ("we", "us", or "the League"). By ticking the acceptance box during signup, by signing in, or by otherwise accessing the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and by our privacy and code-of-conduct policies referenced below.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are signing up on behalf of a team, club, or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2.The Service
The Service is an online platform that supports the operation of recreational and competitive tennis activities, including team management, schedules, lineups, availability, match results, standings, playoffs, notifications, and related league communication. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may evolve over time without prior notice.
We may add, remove, or modify features; impose limits on usage; or restrict access to parts of the Service at our sole discretion, including to protect the integrity of the League, comply with law, or address security or operational concerns.
3.Account Registration and Security
To use most features you must register an account using a valid email address or a supported third-party sign-in provider. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep that information up to date in your profile.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials confidential, do not share your account with others, and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised, are fraudulent, or are otherwise being misused.
4.Roles, Captains, and Admins
Members may hold one or more roles, including player, captain, vice-captain, or administrator. Captains and administrators have access to additional functionality such as setting lineups, confirming results, managing rosters, and editing schedule information. By accepting such a role you agree to act fairly and in good faith on behalf of the team or League, to keep player data confidential, and to follow any additional guidance issued by League organisers.
5.Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not, and will not allow any third party to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or discriminate against any other Member, official, opponent, or staff;
- upload, post, or transmit content that is unlawful, abusive, sexually explicit, hateful, violent, or otherwise objectionable;
- submit false match results, manipulate standings, sandbag lineups, or otherwise undermine the sporting integrity of the competition;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, data, or non-public areas of the Service;
- probe, scan, reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service, its underlying infrastructure, or any security or rate-limiting measures;
- use bots, automated agents, or other automated means to access the Service except where expressly permitted;
- impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or use the Service to promote unrelated commercial activities, spam, or unauthorised advertising.
We may investigate suspected violations and, at our sole discretion, remove content, suspend access, disqualify teams or players, or terminate accounts. Serious or repeated violations may also be reported to the relevant authorities.
6.User Content
"User Content" means any information you submit through the Service, including your profile, team data, lineups, scores, comments, messages, photos, and other materials. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute it solely to operate, promote, and improve the Service and the League (for example, to show standings, publish schedules, or share match recaps).
You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights. We may remove or refuse to display User Content that we believe violates these Terms or applicable law.
7.Privacy and Data
We process personal data such as your name, email, role, team, availability, results, and similar information in order to operate the League. By using the Service you acknowledge that other Members may see information that is reasonably necessary to play the competition, including your name, team, role, lineup position, results, and availability.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and for the security of devices you use to access the Service. You may request deletion of your account by contacting League administrators; certain records (such as historical match results) may be retained where required for the integrity of the competition or to comply with law.
8.Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Tennis is a physical activity that carries inherent risks of injury. You acknowledge that participation in any matches, practices, or events organised, scheduled, or referenced through the Service is at your own risk. You confirm that you are physically fit to participate and that you are responsible for obtaining any medical advice, insurance, or equipment you consider necessary.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the League, its organisers, captains, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated parties are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising out of your participation in League activities, your travel to and from venues, or your interactions with other Members.
9.Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, text, graphics, and other content (excluding User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10.Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (for example, authentication providers, messaging platforms, or analytics tools). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
11.Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available, or that any data (including schedules, standings, or notifications) will be free from inaccuracies.
12.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we, our affiliates, officers, volunteers, sponsors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service or these Terms, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) the equivalent of fifty (50) US dollars.
13.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the League, its organisers, captains, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated parties from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, your participation in League activities, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
14.Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other Members, or if we discontinue all or part of the Service. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.
15.Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the version date at the top of this page and may require you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16.Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the location where the League is organised, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
17.Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to your League administrator. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not create an account or use the Service.
